Two Killed in Revenge Ambush Attack in Lakes State

Authorities of Lakes State have reported that two people were killed and four others injured in two separate incidents in Rumbek East ambushed and revenge attack last night.

According to Lakes State's Acting Minister of Information, William Koji, the incident happen in Maleng-Agok Payam when a pick-up Toyota belong Tiger Division soldiers was ambushed by armed criminals, and in that clashes one armed criminal was killed and two others injured, however the armed criminals injured two other soldiers in the confrontation.

William Koji added that these armed criminals also shoot and kill one woman in her house at around 4: o'clock earlier in the morning.

"These armed criminals were moving from house-house within the vicinity of Maleng-Agok payam in search of men in what he described as a revenge target," he underscore.

William Koji told Aweil News Agency that no one has been apprehended yet, and security forces on the ground are doing their work to trace out these criminals to face full force of the law.

Koji said the government condemned the incident and urged the people of Lakes State to disengage in search criminals activities, which may jeopardise peace and tranquillity in the region

There has been a resurgence of violence and revenge attack in the past weeks in Lakes State after years of peaceful coexistence between the communities.
