SSNBS, WFP Sign MoU to Refurbish National Standards Laboratory
The South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Food Programme (WFP) to support the refurbishment of the SSNBS laboratory in Juba.
The agreement marks a major step toward strengthening South Sudan’s quality infrastructure. Through this partnership, WFP will support the enhancement of laboratory testing capacity, a move expected to improve service delivery, promote food safety, facilitate trade, and strengthen quality assurance systems across the country.
Once refurbished and fully equipped, the laboratory will enable SSNBS to more effectively carry out its mandate of protecting public health and ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
Speaking during the signing, the SSNBS leadership, under the guidance of Hon. Gloria Nyoka, expressed gratitude to the WFP for its continued support. The Bureau reaffirmed its commitment to building strong and sustainable partnerships that contribute to public health protection and the development of quality infrastructure in South Sudan.
