Speaker Tables SSP 40.5 Billion FY 2025/2026 State Budget for Gubernatorial Assent

The Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abuk Jiel Dhieu, formally presented the State Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget to the Governor for assent into law on Tuesday.

The presentation followed the passage of the budget by the State Legislature and was attended by members of the Assembly’s leadership, including the Majority Chief Whip and Chairpersons of the Specialized Committees, who participated in the scrutiny and approval of the bill.

The approved budget, totaling SSP 40.5 billion, is designed to strengthen service delivery across the state and support the implementation of key government priorities. These include the payment of civil servants’ salaries, meeting the operational costs of government institutions and agencies, enhancing stability, improving access to basic social services, and promoting economic recovery and development.

Once assented to by the governor, the FY 2025/2026 budget will provide the legal framework for government spending and the execution of priority programs throughout the state.
