Pulse of the nation.

New year's Contemplation.
My journey to Aweil was so wow,
I and the accompanying people made our travel to Northern Bhar El Ghazal State Capital Aweil in November 2025.
The aim of my (Our) travel was to complete the marriage process ( handing over of cattle ) to the family of our beautiful wife, Mis. Y,
Upon our arrival to the state capital, i couldn't believe my eyes, the tiny city of aweil that I used to hear about was something else in reality.
The beautiful views of the city 😍 and the hospitality of the people were so stunning and charming !!
I toured Aweil rice scheme, and on my way back from the scheme, I passed through the town market, where I, for the first time, enjoyed a naturally grown tomato since I left Khartoum in 2011.
It was my first time experiencing mixed feelings, a mixture of happiness, and a little bit of disappointment, I was so excited when I set my eyes on the people and how they go about their daily life.
After spending enough time roaming the city, I came to realise that people in Aweil don't give shit to what government is doing in juba, everyone is after his own things, businesses are flourishing, city is expanding and everything is almost well.
What disappointed and pained me alot was when I thought about my people back home, I mean people in greater Upper Nile, everything I set my eyes on in Aweil was almost opposite to what is taking place in Upper Nile !!
The population of Awiel Town alone surpasses the population of Malakal, Bor, and Bantiu town combined.
Petrol stations, tarmac roads, restaurants, and agricultural schemes in Aweil unveil how peaceful and hardworking aweilian are, unlike the dumped people of Upper Nille that are dived in hostilities and man made disasters.
People of Upper Nile have suffered a lot in the hand of their own leaders.
The region has been turned into a dumping ground where cheap deals are being executed by warlords. We must wake up.
