Lawyers to take bank to court for failing to give cash customers their cash.
The Pan African Law Chambers LLP, together with Alliance Law Chambers have issued a document revealing plans to take Equity Bank Limited (Juba Main Branch) to court over the persistent non-availability of cash to their clients.
According to the statement extended to the media, Lawyers say failing to allow customers to withdraw their money is a violation of the law.
“The notice cites serious breaches of banking, fiduciary, and contractual obligations, resulting in operational disruption, professional embarrassment, and reputational harm” the statement partly read.
The law firm stated that despite repeated lawful requests, the bank allegedly failed to honor its customer obligations.
“This action reaffirms the principle that no institution is above the law and that access to justice remains a fundamental right” it read.
