Four people dies of tragic road accident in Greater Pibor Administrative Area

At least four (4) people have been confirmed dead and Ten (10) others wounded when a truck loaded with building materials overturned in Greater Pibor Administrative Area.

Speaking to Aweil News Agency this afternoon, the Minister of Information of the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, Jacob Werchum Juok said, the incident occurred on Wednesday, 28th, January, 2026. He recounted that the injured people were rush to Pibor health facility for further medication and are now responding positively

The truck hired by the United Nations Mission in South Sudan, Korean contractor was coming from Gumuruk area with building materials to Pibor were it overturned near Pibor air strip due to slipperyof the road," he added.

"There's was small rain in the area at early morning of Wednesday whereby the road was slippery and the truck was also loaded that's why its missed the road and over turned that resulted to death of 4 people and other 10 injured," Jacob narrated.
