Man divorces wife for checking his WhatsApp while he was asleep

A 47-year-old man from Khor Par in Jamam Boma of Maban County has reportedly divorced his fifth wife after accusing her of checking his WhatsApp messages while he was asleep.

Speaking to Aweil News Agency, an eyewitness from Khor Par, Aroan Dhienga Keta, said the man whose name has been withheld claimed that his wife’s actions proved she was unfaithful.

“We have talked to him, but he completely refused to reconsider his decision. He insists that the wife is cheating. He keeps asking how she managed to know his password and unlock his phone while he was asleep,” Keta explained.

According to Keta, family members have tried to reason with the man, questioning whether he had already made up his mind to divorce her. However, he has not clearly responded to their concerns.

Keta further stated that plans are underway to invite the community chief to intervene in hopes of reconciling the couple. The woman, who is now a mother of three children, remains at the center of the dispute as relatives and community leaders attempt to resolve the matter peacefully.
